2020 NFL Power Rankings, post-draft: Cowboys big winners, Packers major losers
By Dan Parzych
Despite coming up short in the Divisional Round to the Green Bay Packers, the Seattle Seahawks should feel confident enough in continuing to be a top contender in the NFC for the 2020 season, especially with Russell Wilson under center.
Believe it or not, the Seahawks have only missed the playoffs once during the Wilson era since the Seattle star came on board during the draft in 2012.
What is even more terrifying to consider is how Wilson continues to play each season on an MVP level and is showing zero signs of slowing down anytime soon.
But of course, as great as Wilson looks running the offense, the Seahawks will still need their defense to play at a high level in order to continue being a playoff threat.
Seattle’s defense is nowhere near the same level as the glory days from years ago, and even though Jordyn Brooks came as a bit of a surprise for a first-round pick, Seattle clearly did their homework on the Texas Tech star.
When looking at the current situation at linebacker in Seattle, chances are that Brooks could end up starting right away as long as he puts together a successful training camp along with preseason come August.
And if Brooks helps the defense compete with the rest of the contenders in the NFC, the Seahawks should be able to punch another ticket to the playoffs.
