2020 NFL Power Rankings, post-draft: Cowboys big winners, Packers major losers
By Dan Parzych
Last season, the Tennessee Titans ended up being one of the biggest surprise contenders in the AFC, and it was even more shocking to see the team earn a trip to the AFC Championship before coming up short against the Kansas City Chiefs.
As disappointing as it was for the Titans to come up short, at least being one win away from earning a trip to the Super Bowl has given the team plenty of reasons to feel confident over their chances to compete in 2020.
Moving on from Marcus Mariota after everything he did over the years must have been difficult for Tennessee, but also Ryan Tannehill was easily the better option between the two quarterbacks.
Without Tannehill providing the needed spark on offense, chances are the Titans would have spent last January watching the playoffs from home instead of putting together their incredible run that almost resulted in a Super Bowl appearance.
On another note, Tennessee certainly deserves plenty of credit for taking care of Tannehill’s protection in the first round of the draft by going with Isaiah Wilson at No. 29.
In a way, the Georgia product falling this late in the round came as somewhat of a surprise when looking at all of the other teams ahead of the Titans in need of help with adding depth to the offensive line.
Wilson still has plenty to prove now that he will be playing at the NFL level, but at least with the right coaching, Tennessee should have him up to speed in no time.
