2020 NFL Power Rankings, post-draft: Cowboys big winners, Packers major losers
By Dan Parzych
Just when it seemed like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers couldn’t pull off another unexpected surprise this offseason after convincing Tom Brady to come on board, the team acquired previously retired Rob Gronkowski from the New England Patriots as well.
All of a sudden, the chances of the Buccaneers playing in their own stadium for the Super Bowl just reached new levels, and the team should love their odds even more following a successful draft.
As great as it is for Brady to now be the one calling the shots on offense for Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers realized the importance of providing the proper protection for the future Hall of Famer.
Trading up one pick in the first round to select Tristan Wirfs may not seem like that big of a deal, but also shows the Buccaneers feared of another team swooping in, and taking the Iowa standout from them, or they would have scrambled to find someone else at the position to take.
For months, Wirfs was considered to be a first-round pick in the draft, and one can only imagine his level of excitement knowing that he will now get to be teammates with one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game of football.
