Logan Ryan announced on Tuesday that his time with the Titans is done, so which NFL teams should come calling to try and land the free-agent cornerback?

The Tennessee Titans made an improbable run to the AFC Championship Game last season after Ryan Tannehill took over as the starting quarterback. But it wasn’t just the quarterback behind their turnaround. The Titans had one of the more complete rosters with a ton of players playing great, perhaps none better than cornerback Logan Ryan.

A veteran, Ryan had perhaps the best season of his career in 2019 as he filled up the stat sheet with four interceptions, 18 passes defended, four forced fumbles, 4.5 sacks and 113 total tackles. He was a do-it-all monster in a contract year. But after three seasons in Tennessee and now on the NFL free-agent market, Ryan announced on Tuesday he’s done with the Titans.

That means the high-impact 29-year-old will have a new home for the 2020 season. So where could Logan Ryan play? These five NFL teams would make sense for the cornerback on the remaining free-agent market.

5. San Francisco 49ers

In addition to Kyle Shanahan’s offensive mind guiding the way, the primary reason the San Francisco 49ers made it to Super Bowl LIII last year was the strength of Robert Saleh’s defense. And part of that was Richard Sherman and the secondary playing at an extremely high level throughout the year.

Having said that, the secondary needs some more stability. Not only is Sherman aging but players like Ahkello Witherspoon, Jason Verrett and Emmanuel Moseley have not fully proven themselves on the field or that they can stay healthy. That could make someone like Logan Ryan useful.

Ryan would come into this group and be a better option in the slot than K’Waun Williams and give the overall cornerback group in secondary more flexibility. The money could be the deciding factor here but the fit between player and team ultimately makes sense.
