The Dallas Cowboys improved their roster in the 2020 NFL Draft but could still land more talent by looking at one of these 3 potential trade possibilities.
It’s been a successful offseason for the Dallas Cowboys, even if it hasn’t been perfect. They did lose a lot of talent in Robert Quinn, Byron Jones, and Randall Cobb but their free agency moves as well as a strong draft helped fill some of those vacancies.
Trevon Diggs and Daryl Worley will help ease the pain of losing Jones whereas CeeDee Lamb should become an upgrade over Cobb. They also landed Dontari Poe and Gerald McCoy to help the defensive line make up for losing one of their best edge rushers.
Still, the Cowboys could stand to add more talent for their new head coach Mike McCarthy. With that being the case, here are three names that they could look to add via trade ahead of the 2020 NFL Season.
Notable omission: Jamal Adams
Yes, the Cowboys have a need at safety and yes Jamal Adams is the perfect fit. His ability to line up at strong safety and change the offensive game plan could alter the entire Dallas defense — and he would pair perfectly with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.
Having said all that, this one just isn’t happening. Adams is simply too valuable for the New York Jets to just give up for nothing and on top of the huge cost it would take to trade for him, the next obstacle becomes a new contract for him.
So while he could push their defense over the top, the move for Adams is likely nothing more than a pipe dream at this point.
