4. New York Jets

Sitting at the No. 11 pick in the 2020 draft, the New York Jets faced a critical decision. On one hand, they could take a top-tier offensive tackle to protect young quarterback Sam Darnold. On the other, they could take one of the elite wide receiver prospects to give Darnold more options in the passing game. They opted for the former, selecting Louisville’s Mekhi Becton.

New York undoubtedly had fortune fall upon them in the second round as Baylor wide receiver Denzel Mims fell to them, even after trading back from the late-40s to the mid-50s. Mims has a ton of upside as a player but, when you get down to it, the Jets wide receiver room still needs a ton of work.

Quincy Enunwa has already been ruled out for the 2020 season with a lingering neck injury, the team signed Breshad Perriman in free agency and Jamison Crowder is a short-area target monster. But in terms of proven playmakers at all levels of the field, they have no one who the offense can rely on as of right now.

Should the Jets trade for JuJu Smith-Schuster, that would help Darnold and the offense tremendously. While there are concerns about him as a No. 1 receiver, the presence of the guys already in place should be enough to take pressure off of the current Steeler. As such, he can come into the Big Apple and be a star akin to what he showed in the 2018 season.
