Week 5: Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens

Joe Burrow and Jackson meet for the first time in a Sunday showdown. The two former Heisman winners entered the NFL with different expectations. Jackson barely heard his name called in the first round, while Burrow became the apparent first overall pick months in advance. However, Jackson and the Ravens hold the high ground in this first matchup.

Cincinnati could become threatening in the future, but Baltimore should sweep the season series this year.

Prediction: Win

Week 6: Baltimore Ravens at Philadelphia Eagles

In another battle of your quarterbacks, Jackson faces off against Carson Wentz. Wentz led a battered and broken Eagles team to the playoffs last season, and Philadelphia’s offense poses a real threat when healthy. However, Baltimore’s team is more well-rounded. Even against Philly’s strong defensive front, the Ravens should gash the Eagles all day long.

Prediction: Win

Week 7: Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens

The Steelers should look like an entirely different team this year now that Ben Roethlisberger is healthy. Ravens fans shouldn’t underestimate Roethlisberger. Even at his age, the two-time Super Bowl champion can still lead his teams to 30 or 40-point performances. However, Big Ben will struggle in his first matchup against Baltimore’s new secondary.

The Ravens and Steelers always get in close games. While Baltimore possesses a significant advantage on paper, their division rivals find ways to level the playing field. Mark your calendars for this one.

Prediction: Win

Week 8: Bye Week

Baltimore gets a rest near the middle of the regular season. The team’s level of opponents increases immediately after the bye week.

Week 9: Baltimore Ravens at Indianapolis Colts

It’s hard to tell what version of Philip Rivers and the Colts we’ll get this fall. However, nothing from the past several years makes me believe Rivers can handle Baltimore’s stacked secondary. Between Marlon Humphrey, Marcus Peters, and Earl Thomas, the Ravens should fool Rivers into throwing at least two interceptions.

The Colts do possess a great offensive line and loaded backfield, but so do the Ravens. This combination could start as a slugfest early on before turning into a shootout in the second half.

Prediction: Win
