Now that the Buffalo Bills’ schedule has been made public, we can go game-by-game and predict the outcomes. Can the Bills improve on their 2019 record?

Following a season in which the Buffalo Bills were able to make the postseason for the second time in three years and win double-digit games for the first time this century, many expect this team to be a contender in 2020. And now the 2020 Bills schedule is out to see what that path to contending looks like.

Now that Tom Brady is at long-last out of the division, the Bills have a decent chance to dethrone the New England Patriots for the AFC East title. However, despite the division being less treacherous, the Bills may still have an uphill climb to the top of the standings.

The Bills currently have the eighth toughest strength of schedule in the NFL, as they will face the NFC West and AFC West this season. Their over/under win total according to Las Vegas sportsbooks is nine wins, which ties the Patriots for the third-most in the AFC.

Buffalo has heavily invested in the offensive side of the ball this offseason, spending most of their draft capital on skill position players like Stefon Diggs, Zack Moss, Gabriel Davis and Isaiah Hodgins. After finishing as the 23rd ranked scoring unit in the NFL in 2019, the team has gone all-in on Josh Allen with the hope that a healthy complement of weapons will allow him to take a leap in his third season.

The Buffalo defense, on the other hand, has only gotten better. The departures of Shaq Lawson and Jordan Phillips were offset by the additions of veterans like Mario Addison, Vernon Butler, Quinton Jefferson and Josh Norman. The Bills also spent their first pick in the draft on defense, selecting projected first-rounder A.J. Epenesa with the 54th overall pick.

However, none of their offseason moves will matter if they can’t translate their added talent into wins on the field. So, let’s take a look at their schedule this year and see if the Bills can turn themselves into true contenders in 2020.
