Just like the rest of the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys learned what their 2020 schedule would be on Thursday night. Here is a game-by-game breakdown of how those games should play out.

It seems at this point that everything the NFL does is a huge event. Dallas Cowboys fans were just like every other fan base as they patiently waited for the 8 p.m. EST release of the 2020 NFL Schedule.

In the past, this would simply be announced and that was it. This is no longer the case as all week there has been speculation about who could land where. Who gets the prime time games? Who will travel to Jerry World for Thanksgiving Day, and most importantly, are they going to once again have to open up the season against the New York Giants?

Of course, there have been other discussions this season as well, with the COVID-19 pandemic hovering overhead. The league already had to alter their plans on draft night which had some questioning how the schedule release — and subsequent ticket sales — would be affected. In the end, the league decided to proceed as if everything was normal and didn’t change the date and will start selling tickets right away.

As for the Cowboys, they got their answers, as well as a shocking surprise. Not only will they not start things off with the Giants (although the chance to face off with Jason Garrett would have made it more fun than normal), but they don’t even have a divisional game until Week 5 — which will still be against New York. They will, however, finish their year out with a road game against those very Giants.

Their first opponent ended up being the Los Angeles Rams, followed by games against the Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks, and Cleveland Browns. They will also host the Washington Redskins for their annual Thanksgiving game and will have a late bye week, which will come in Week 10.

Now, let’s dig deeper into each one of these games while also predicting the outcome for every contest in 2020.
