Week 5: Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks pulled off a narrow 37-30 win over the Vikings in Week 13 last season. While Minnesota added a ton of players in the draft, the team also lost several vital pieces in free agency. For instance, Everson Griffen and the team’s top three cornerbacks from last season all left Minnesota. Stefon Diggs also bullied his way out.

The Vikings should still compete for a Wild Card spot in 2020, but the team seems much weaker than they were last season.

Prediction: Win

Week 6: Bye Week

Having their bye week so early could hurt the Seahawks toward the end of the regular season.

Week 7: Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals

The first surprising loss on Seattle’s schedule, Arizona finds a way to upset Pete Carroll’s squad in Week 7. The Seahawks split their two-game series against the Cardinals last season. After an easy 27-10 victory in Week 4, Arizona thumped Seattle 13-27 in Week 16. The loss contributed to Seattle losing their grip on the NFC West.

One of my biggest criticisms of the Seahawks is that the team plays to the level of its competition. In this case, Seattle drops its guard and loses its first divisional matchup of the season.

Prediction: Loss

Week 8: San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks

After a disappointing loss, the Seahawks rebound by taking down their division rivals. The Seahawks split their two-game series with the 49ers last season, and I expect they’ll do the same in 2020. Wilson is a significantly better quarterback than Jimmy Garoppolo, to the point where the perennial MVP candidate won’t lose to the same team twice in a single season.

Prediction: Win

Week 9: Seattle Seahawks at Buffalo Bills

The quarterback position becomes the deciding factor in another game. While Buffalo’s defense slows down Seattle’s running game, Wilson takes over in the second half and leads the Seahawks to victory. On the other hand, the unproven Josh Allen makes several mistakes down the stretch as his offense tries to keep pace.

Buffalo put together a great defense and a solid overall team, but their quarterback play will always keep them from fighting with the best teams in the NFL.

Prediction: Win
