Minnesota Vikings schedule 2020: Picks, predictions for every game
Week 10: Vikings at Bears
In a third straight week against an NFC North opponent, Minnesota will face the Chicago Bears for the first time of the season on the road on a national stage of Monday Night Football.
Although the Vikings will get an extra day of preparation to face the Bears in Chicago, playing the Bears on the road — and especially when it comes on a national stage — has been a very tough task for Minnesota to overcome. Chicago, which will be in second place in the NFC North behind the Vikings entering this game, will come away with a win and will drop Minnesota to 6-3 overall
Prediction: Loss
Week 11: Cowboys at Vikings
After alternating home and road games the few weeks prior, Minnesota will kick off a stretch of three straight home games against America’s team on a Sunday evening in Minneapolis.
Dallas, which beefed up its offense this offseason and mainly through the draft, will be one of the top teams in the NFC this season and will prove to be a very tough test for Minnesota, even with it playing the game at home. That will result in the Vikings falling for the second straight game and for the first time on their home field, also going through their first losing streak of the season with the defeat.
Prediction: Loss
Week 12: Panthers at Vikings
In the second of three games at home, Minnesota will face a familiar face on the other side of the field when the Carolina Panthers come to town for a Sunday afternoon contest in Minneapolis.
Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who played for the Vikings earlier in his NFL career and signed with Carolina this offseason after playing in New Orleans, will make his return to U.S. Bank Stadium as a starting quarterback for the first time since playing in purple and gold. Unfortunately for Bridgewater, the Vikings defense will get to him early and often and Minnesota will overpower Carolina to end its two-game losing streak in Week 12.
Prediction: Win
Week 13: Jaguars at Vikings
At the three-quarters mark of the regular season, the Vikings will once again play at home before entering a tough stretch to finish the year when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars in Minnesota.
In a Sunday afternoon contest, the Vikings defense will feed off of their home crowd and playing on their home field to hold the Jaguars in check long enough for the offense to be able to get out to a lead early on. Minnesota will ultimately come away with a low-scoring victory to notch its eighth win of the regular season to this point.
Prediction: Win
