Week 5: Panthers at Falcons
The first divisional matchup for Atlanta will come on their home field when the new-look Carolina Panthers enter Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on a Sunday afternoon.
The Panthers, who will be led under center by Teddy Bridgewater after the organization signed him via free agency and parted ways with Cam Newton in the offseason. Although Carolina has the potential to take care of business on the offensive side of the ball behind Christian McCaffrey, Atlanta will be able to match what the Panthers do offensively and come away with the win in the first NFC South matchup of the regular season.
Prediction: Win
Week 6: Falcons at Vikings
Already by Week 6, Atlanta will be facing its third NFC North opponent in the matter of a four-week span, once again entering a tough environment in Minneapolis when facing the Minnesota Vikings.
The Vikings have traditionally been a tough team to face on their home field at U.S. Bank Stadium, even though the Falcons will have the familiarity of playing indoors. But in the Sunday afternoon NFC showdown, Minnesota will take down Atlanta for the second straight season to put the Falcons back down to the .500 mark at 3-3 overall going into Week 7.
Prediction: Loss
Week 7: Lions at Falcons
Approaching the midway point in the season, another NFC North opponent will appear on the schedule for the Falcons, but this time they will be able to take care of business against the Detroit Lions.
The Lions are an interesting team in that they have the potential to do well, but injuries have halted them year-after-year. Detroit has an above-average offense, but struggle on the defensive side of the ball which will play in favor of Atlanta and will allow the Falcons to grab yet another win at home to secure their fourth victory of the year.
Prediction: Win

Riding a win over Detroit the week prior, the Falcons will have a short week of preparation leading into this Thursday Night Football game in Carolina, but Atlanta will once again be able to win the NFC South game to sweep the two-game season series against the Panthers.
