Jacksonville Jaguars schedule 2020: Picks, predictions for every game
The Jacksonville Jaguars schedule for 2020 could spell some problems for a team in the midst of a rebuild and coming off of a 6-10 campaign last year.
The NFL continues to move full steam ahead as we have reached another important date on the off-season calendar this past Thursday as the Jacksonville Jaguars schedule for 2020, along with the other 31 teams in the league, was released.
Jacksonville finished the 2019 season at 6-10 and are in the beginning stages of a rebuild. Just two years removed from making it to the AFC Championship Game, nearly every member of the 2017 defense has been traded or released.
While they had a solid draft, they will see the ramifications of a rebuild play out on the field this season. Here is a game by game breakdown of the Jaguars 2020 schedule and how I see their season playing out.
Week 1: vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts revamped their offense at nearly every skill position this off-season. Philip Rivers replaces Jacoby Brissett at quarterback. They also drafted Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor and USC wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. to give Rivers some weapons to distribute to behind that elite offensive line. The Colts are a far better team at nearly every position and will get the win over an inferior Jaguars roster.
Prediction: Loss
Week 2: at Tennessee Titans
I think the Titans are going to take a massive step back this season. The Jaguars offense gives me more confidence and Tennessee’s secondary has been oversold. Logan Ryan is gone and Adoree’ Jackson is more of a great athlete than a great cornerback. With Jack Conklin also gone, I like the Jaguars in this road contest.
Prediction: Win
Week 3: vs. Miami Dolphins
Assuming that Ryan Fitzpatrick will still be starting for Miami at this point, I am giving the Jags the edge at home. I like Gardner Minshew better than Fitzpatrick and I think that the Jaguars offense is better at nearly every position, specifically the offensive line. Josh Allen and first round pick K’Lavon Chaisson could have good days. The Jags get the win and improve to 2-1.
Prediction: Win
Week 4: at Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals and Jaguars are very similar; young quarterbacks, good running backs, talented receiving trios and defenses that are less than stellar. That said, I like the Bengals weapons more than Jacksonville’s, and being that the game is in Cincinnati where the Bengals have the home-field, they get the edge here.
Prediction: Loss
