Easiest Games on Vikings schedule

3. Week 9 vs. Detroit Lions

Although the Minnesota Vikings do have some tough games on their schedule, they do also have some games that are viewed as fairly easy contests and the first game that will be just that comes on Week 9 in an NFC North matchup with the Detroit Lions.

Annually, it seems like everything thinks the Lions have improved and are poised to try and make a run at a division title, but injuries have halted those high hopes the last few years. Mainly, Matthew Stafford‘s health has strongly impacted the performance of Detroit in the last few seasons.

Although many have high hopes for the Lions, they still have yet to become a serious threat in the division and in the NFC, and taking on Minnesota at U.S. Bank Stadium in the middle of the regular season will be a tough task for the Lions. This game should be a walk in the park for Minnesota.

2. Week 12 vs. Carolina Panthers

On Week 12 in Minneapolis, the Vikings will host a familiar face when the Carolina Panthers come to town. Former Minnesota and New Orleans quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will make his first return to U.S. Bank Stadium as a starting quarterback after signing with the Panthers in free agency this offseason.

Although the Panthers do have a relatively decent offense, they still have a long way to go on defense, which will play in favor of Cousins, Dalvin Cook, Adam Thielen and the rest of the Vikings offense. In what will likely be a high-scoring affair in Minneapolis, Minnesota should be able to take care of business against Bridgewater and Carolina in Week 12.

1. Week 13 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Over the last few years, the Jacksonville Jaguars have certainly fallen off when it comes to being one of the top teams in the NFL. Just a few years ago, Jacksonville threatened to nearly reach the Super Bowl, only to fall in the opposite direction as an organization just a few short years later.

This season, the Jaguars will once again struggle while they go through somewhat of a rebuilding mode, and when they travel to Minneapolis on Week 13, the Vikings should be able to take the game handily on their home field. Jacksonville could be in position to get a top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft with the chance to draft Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who will no doubt be one of the top prospects coming into the NFL next offseason.
