With the 2020 NFL season approaching, here is a look at three Minnesota Vikings players who will have to step up for the purple and gold during the year.

Even with some shifting in personnel both within the coaching staff and on the field this offseason, expectations remain the same for the Minnesota Vikings during the 2020 NFL season.

Already this offseason, Minnesota has seen a few different coordinators depart the organization for other coaching opportunities, while also losing some key players on both sides of the field.

With new offensive and defensive coordinators set to be inserted into the team in 2020 and the absence of players such as wide receiver Stefon Diggs, cornerback Xavier Rhodes, defensive end Everson Griffen and others, there is no doubt the Vikings will look a bit different on the field during the 16-game regular-season schedule.

Even with that change in personnel, Minnesota still hopes to make an ultimate return to the playoffs for a second straight year after reaching the postseason as a NFC Wild Card squad in 2019 to only get bounced from the playoffs in the NFC Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers.

Coming off of a 10-6 record and a second-place finish in the NFC North last season, the Vikings have flooded the team with some new faces throughout the depth chart to not only try and get back to the playoffs but also try and win the division against the likes of the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears.

In the 2020 NFL Draft and throughout the undrafted free agency process this offseason, Minnesota has brought in some nice young prospects on both sides of the ball while also inserting some familiar faces and current players into starting roles for the upcoming campaign.

As the year continues to inch closer, let’s take a look at some of those players that will emerge as top-notch options in Minnesota and pick out three players that will have to step up for the purple and gold during the 2020 season.
