. . Aaron Rodgers. 6. player. 49.

While the consensus among NFL fans seems to be that Aaron Rodgers took a step back last season, he still led the Packers to a 13-3 record without much help from his skill position players. Davante Adams, Green Bay’s only notable wide receiver, missed four games last season. Aside from Adams, no player on the team recorded over 500 receiving yards.

Of course, Rodgers didn’t receive any help from Green Bay’s front office during the 2020 NFL Draft. Instead of taking one of the many extremely talented wide receiver prospects, the Packers drafted Jordan Love in the first round. Rodgers should be infuriated. It’s nothing personal against Love, but Rodgers wants to win now, and the Packers didn’t get him any help in the draft.

We’ll see how Rodgers responds to the franchise drafting his supposed eventual replacement. He could come out and try to stick it to Green Bay’s front office and general manager Brian Gutekunst.

Rodgers didn’t play at an MVP level last season, but he still hauled Green Bay to a 13-3 record and the playoffs. The future Hall of Fame quarterback threw for 4,002 yards, 26 touchdowns and only four interceptions. Defensive backs intercepted fewer than one percent of Rodgers’ pass attempts in 2019.

A lot of Rodgers’ statistical trouble in 2019 came from not playing with enough talented pass-catchers. If he faces the same issues this coming season, the front office deserves most of the blame.
