With the 2020 NFL season approaching, we take some time to look back at all 32 team’s work this offseason and identify what move, or lack thereof, will go down as their biggest misstep

Every year, there are huge swings in the offseason — and they always lead to some big hits and big misses. That will remain the case following the 2020 NFL offseason, which saw some of the bigger names in the game change teams.

Of course, none garnered more attention than Tom Brady, the six-time Super Bowl winner who left the New England Patriots to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, he wasn’t the only franchise quarterback to switch clubs as Philip Rivers bolted from the Chargers to join the Indianapolis Colts.

There were plenty of other moves outside of quarterback as Byron Jones became the highest-paid defensive back with the Miami Dolphins and Melvin Gordon joined the Denver Broncos.

With all these moves in the rearview, we can now take a step back and identify what moves, or lack thereof, were the biggest misfires by all 32 teams, starting with the Arizona Cardinals.

Arizona Cardinals: Not fixing the offensive line

This one is hard because the Arizona Cardinals landed a stud with their first pick in the draft, Clemson linebacker Isaiah Simmons. He also fills a need for them as their defense has had an absence of big playmakers for quite some time.

However, this is a Kliff Kingsbury-led team. They’re not going to win with shutdown defense, but instead with a high-powered offensive attack centered around Kyler Murray — their No. 1 pick in 2019. And that’s going to be hard to do without a strong offensive line in front of Murray.

Even with them not adding a great offensive tackle, the Cards should be happy about their moves this year. Simmons will help and they stole DeAndre Hopkins from Houston. Overall, they have improved and the needle is pointing up, but they need to make sure to protect their offensive leader.
