Baltimore Ravens: Waiting to draft a receiver

Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta has done a tremendous job since taking over from Ozzie Newsome. He was given a pretty good team to begin with but has made some smart moves since becoming the man, and that includes the work he did in the 2020 NFL Draft.

In the first round, he added Patrick Queen from LSU who should be an instant starter for them. Baltimore let C.J. Mosely leave in free agency a season ago and Queen can give them someone who can fill the role he used to occupy.

After that, they added J.K. Dobbins in the second round, which seems unfair. Already boasting an unstoppable running attack, the Ravens just got one of the best running backs in the entire class to go along with Mark Ingram and, of course, Lamar Jackson who won the MVP last season thanks in large part to his ability to take off and run.

Two picks after Dobbins, they added Devin Duvernay out of Texas and if there was anything to dislike about their offseason, it was waiting until pick 92 to add a wideout. Again, the work by DeCosta was excellent this offseason and the value he got on each of his picks were great, making it hard to find their one misstep.

Having said that, they would have done well for themselves to add a wideout earlier on. But considering how strong their offense was in 2019, this likely won’t come back to haunt them.
