9. Kirk Cousins and Adam Thielen, Minnesota Vikings

Adam Thielen only appeared in ten games last season and posted his worst numbers since 2015, but that shouldn’t tank the two-time Pro Bowler. He’s only one season removed from putting together an eight-game stretch of 100-yard performances. So, I’ll give the former undrafted free agent a pass for last season.

While Thielen struggled in 2019, Kirk Cousins authored the best year of his career. He led Minnesota to ten wins, completed 69.1 percent of his pass attempts, and posted a 107.4 passer rating. Defenders only intercepted 1.4 percent of Cousins’ pass attempts, and he finished the season with 26 touchdowns and six interceptions. Nearing his 32nd birthday, Cousins should be reaching his peak as a quarterback.

With Stefon Diggs heading to Buffalo and Justin Jefferson just joining the Vikings, the largest burden of Minnesota’s receiving game falls on Thielen this coming season. Jefferson is a tremendous prospect who should replace Diggs, but expecting him to show up and play like a seasoned veteran from Day 1 is too much. The 2020 season is Thielen’s chance to reclaim his status as one of the best receivers in the NFL.

Much like the previous pairing on this list, Cousins and Thielen are vulnerable. Thielen’s recent injury history and the loss of Diggs could lead to offensive struggles in 2020. If that’s the case, I’m sure another duo will happily overtake Cousins and Thielen for the eighth spot.
