2. Jaire Alexander

While the argument can be made that Kevin King could easily be in this spot since the cornerback is entering the final year of his contract, and the Packers could lose see him walk in free agency, Jaire Alexander also deserves consideration as well.

After using a first-round pick in 2018 on the former Louisville star, Alexander has been a great fit for Green Bay’s defense so far in each of the last two seasons and seems like he will only continue to get better with experience.

With this in mind, it seems unlikely the Packers would be willing to give up the young cornerback in a trade, but also if the Steelers were to make a respectful offer for Alexander, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Green Bay at least considered the possibility.

Filling the void left by Alexander would be tough for obvious reasons, but the good news for the Packers is the roster currently has a few candidates at cornerback who seem like they would be ready to step up.

As for Pittsburgh, well even though the offense tends to receive most of the attention, with the high-powered offense of the Baltimore Ravens arguably looking stronger than last season, the Steelers’ defense will need to be on top of their game in 2020.

If Alexander were to become part of the mix, at least the unit would be receiving another upgrade at cornerback.
