NFL Uniforms 2020, Power Rankings: Good, bad and ugly following offseason changes
By Randy Gurzi
This coming season is going to be interesting for the New England Patriots. They will be without Tom Brady for the first time in 20 seasons as he decided to head south to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Patriots south will even have Rob Gronkowski as the tight end was traded to Tampa for a fourth-round pick after spending last season retired.
With Brady gone, it appears they will be turning to former Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham with Brian Hoyer as his backup. However, that won’t be the only change in New England.
New England also decided to make some changes to their uniforms which was much-needed. Their past dreads were pretty bad, but their winning ways masked them quite a bit. Then the rumor was the coming change was only minor, which was a bummer.
In the end, it turned out to be a bit more than the team hinted at as the jersey is significantly different. Although, it’s also very familiar.
The Patriots’ new design is actually better than their old. It’s a lot cleaner and that should be commended. However, it looks so much like the New York Guardians of the XFL that it’s hard to take them seriously.
Remember, this is the team that has won more Super Bowls than any other franchise in the past 20 years. They even won so many during that span that they are tied with every other team all-time now — with only the wins under Brady and head coach Bill Belichick.

All of that is fantastic, but you would think someone with that much cred would be able to enlist somebody to design a uniform that isn’t ripping off from a different league.
