NFL Uniforms 2020, Power Rankings: Good, bad and ugly following offseason changes
By Randy Gurzi
The city of Houston deserves a football team and that was made apparent when the NFL decided to give them an expansion franchise after their beloved Houston Oilers moved to Tennessee and later became the Titans. In 2002, the Houston Texans were born and they haven’t done much at all to their look since entering the NFL.
Now, you have to give them props because they found a look they really liked with what they call “deep blue steel, battle red, and liberty white.” Really, it’s just dark blue, red, and white but throwing those other names in front of it makes it sound cooler. They also can wear red on red and call it “battle red” which sounds better than “eyesore” — although that’s more truthful.
The logo isn’t bad as the bull is pretty symbolic with the state and naming them the “Texans” suggests they’re all about their state. It’s probably a good thing that not every team does this though because we would have several teams called the ‘Californians’ and two New York New Yorkers.

Anyway, the uniform itself isn’t really bad, but it’s just boring. They might have never made a change but it’s probably time to do so. And considering how sick the Oilers old unis were, they should look into creating something with that color scheme.
