NFC East

Dallas Cowboys: Jamal Adams, S, Jets

You had to know this was coming. The biggest hole the Cowboys have is in the secondary, and Jamal Adams wants out of New York. Also, he’s a Cowboys fan. Not that hard to make the connection.

Although this deal would take a couple of high draft picks (probably at least a second and a third), Jerry Jones should pull the trigger. Adding Adams will give the back end of defensive coordinator Mike Nolan’s unit the playmaker it desperately need and Dallas would be that much bigger of a threat come playoff time.

New York Giants: Bud Dupree, EDGE, Steelers

Do I think this is likely? No, not really. However, GM Dave Gettleman should strongly consider making a move like this. It would take a lot to acquire Bud Dupree from Pittsburgh but it could happen. After all, he’s still playing under the franchise tag for 2020 and the Steelers are tight against the cap once again.

It would likely take a couple of higher picks (think a similar package to what Dallas would have to pay for Adams), but Dupree would fill the biggest hole the Giants still have: edge rusher. After breaking out last year, it looks like he’s fulfilling his first-round pedigree. Gettleman should try and go and get him, or possibly Ngakoue from Jacksonville.

Philadelphia Eagles: Desmond King, CB, Chargers

Once again, the Eagles have a need at cornerback. It seems like a recurring theme for them. Luckily, there are a few cornerbacks that could be available to trade. One of the teams that has a surplus at the position is Los Angeles, so GM Howie Roseman should approach them to see if they can possibly obtain a new cover man.

Although he’s played mostly in the slot, it doesn’t matter. Desmond King is a player that Philadelphia defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz could use. Like most of the players on this list so far, he could probably be had for a Day 3 pick. It would make sense for Roseman to go out and add a player his defense sorely needs.

Washington: Gerald Everett, TE, Rams

Another player from a surplus position that could be acquired for a Day 3 pick. After taking a tight end that could replace Gerald Everett once he becomes a free agent after this year, why not go ahead and get something for him now?

If you look at the Redskins’ tight end depth chart, it’s not good. At all. They currently have Jeremy Sprinkle and Richard Rodgers as their top two tight ends. Everett would immediately come in and be the starter from day one. He’s never had an opportunity like that before, so this would be a win-win for both teams.
