4. Miami Dolphins

In a season where the Miami Dolphins were the favorites to win the No. 1 overall pick and potentially not win a game, the first year under head coach Brian Flores has to be considered a massive success. Yes, they started poorly but the team began to buy into the culture and finished strong to come up with a 5-11 season. Then the offseason came and the rebuild was on.

Between signing big-name free agents such as Byron Jones, Kyle Van Noy and Shaq Lawson, among others, the Dolphins also found their hopeful franchise quarterback in Tua Tagovailoa, who they selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. This roster isn’t ready to compete right now but, with the coaching and infrastructure, they have the ability to make a big jump now and in the very near future.

Despite their defensive upgrades, though, the Dolphins are hurting at the safety position right now. The projected starters in Miami right now are Eric Rowe and Bobby McCain, neither of whom offer much in that regard. After releasing Reshad Jones, Miami needs to make a splash there and Jamal Adams would certainly do that.

The biggest hangup on an Adams trade for the Dolphins would be the Jets’ likely reluctance to deal him within the AFC East. That point taken, Miami has two first-round picks that they could work with. And since they already have their quarterback, they could be more willing to move one of them, especially if it means adding a 24-year-old star at a position of need.
