Jamal Adams trade rumors: 5 Best landing spots if safety is dealt
1. Dallas Cowboys
Everyone knew this was coming but it has to be mentioned. There is no better candidate for a Jamal Adams trade than the Dallas Cowboys. This team has been interested in making a deal for the safety since October 2019 and has been in contact numerous times with the Jets about a possible deal. So with this latest potential for a trade, that shouldn’t stop for Dallas.
In all honesty, what the Cowboys have done this offseason leads me to believe that they think they can get this type of trade done. Though they signed Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to a one-year deal, they have largely neglected the safety position throughout the offseason. Considering that many people would call that the team’s most glaring need, that’s certainly curious at least.
While Clinton-Dix and Xavier Woods can be a fine safety combination for the Dallas defense, having Adams paired with either of those players, likely with Clinton-Dix and moving Woods to more of a rover in the defense, would make them exponentially more dangerous on the back end. That’s something they could use after Byron Jones walked in free agency.
As new head coach Mike McCarthy takes over on the Cowboys sidelines, this team has the pieces to compete for a Super Bowl. They were a 10-to-12-win team a season ago that had 6-10 coaching, which led to them going 8-8. Now they have the right coach and the ability to contend with the talent on the roster. Going all-in by trading valuable draft capital for Adams would be well worth it in the long run.
