Which NFL team from each division was the big winner for the 2020 offseason?

The 2020 NFL offseason has been an interesting one, to say the least. With the entire nation concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic, the league has had to call more than one audible to get things done. Free agency went on as planned, but there were limited trips allowed which had an impact on visits and team physicals.

Then there was the 2020 NFL Draft, which wasn’t held in Las Vegas as planned. Instead, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced the picks from his basement during a virtual draft. Team decision-makers sent their picks in from home and all the player interviews were held online as well.

With all this now behind us, we look forward to the regular season which is expected to start on time, even if they have to switch how the games are played. With a better understanding of what the teams will look like in 2020, we now look at all eight divisions and identify which team had the best offseason for each of those divisions.

AFC East: Buffalo Bills

Last year, the Buffalo Bills made some progress as they ended up in the playoffs following a 10-6 campaign. They were unable to advance in the postseason but it was a good campaign to be able to build on. And this offseason, they did some nice work trying to take that next step.

The biggest addition for the Bills was wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who they landed in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings. Widely expected to use their first-round pick on a wideout, they ended up doing just that but instead of looking for a rookie, they landed a guy who is a proven commodity in the league.

They were also still able to land A.J. Epenesa in the draft, which helped fill the void left by Shaq Lawson who they lost in free agency. Another solid add was Zack Moss, who gives them a good option behind Devin Singletary in the running game.

With Tom Brady out in New England, the AFC East is wide open and Buffalo did enough to get themselves in the mix for the title this season.
