Best NFC South uniforms

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Red Color Rush

I promise I’m not just picking Color Rush uniforms. Half of them were hideous. The Bucs’ uniform just happened to be their best one until they revamped their look last month. These did away with the weird shoulder design and instead tried to simplify a complicated uniform. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than what they had.

Atlanta Falcons: Throwbacks

Insert a chef’s kiss GIF here. These are splendid. While they’re certainly among the simpler uniforms in the NFL, there are a couple of subtle details that vault the look into the league’s best. The thickness of the outline on the numbers and letters are just the right amount; they inject enough red in the uniform without it being too distracting.

The second detail is the pants stripe. The heavy presence of red adds enough color to what would otherwise be a black-and-white uniform. Good thing Atlanta is keeping these with their new uniforms.

Carolina Panthers: Blue Jerseys, White Pants

Why Carolina wore their “Panther Blue” jerseys only twice last season is beyond me. It’s a fantastic and distinctive look. The reason I chose the white pants over the black pants is that it flows with the rest of the uniform. With white pants, the dominant colors are white and blue. With black pants, it’s black and blue.

But what puts the white combo over the top is that the white letters and numbers — which are relatively big — are more prominent than the black color and shoulder stripes. Together, the white pants and numbers look better than black pants and white numbers.

New Orleans Saints: Color Rush/Throwbacks

The Saints have always had a superior look compared to the rest of the league, but this Color Rush/throwback hybrid may be the best of the bunch. The all-white look is clean and simple, but it’s the addition of the stripes and gold numbers that push this uniform over the top. The regular uniforms have a logo in place of the stripes, and I’ll take the stripes 9 times out of 10.

It adds a new layer to the uniform. Like the Raiders earlier, the Saints get bonus points for glistening numbers.
