Cornerbacks (6): Tevaughn Campbell, Michael Davis, Brandon Facyson, Chris Harris, Casey Hayward, Desmond King

Los Angeles also addressed the cornerback position this offseason. The team signed Chris Harris in free agency. The long-time Denver Bronco is no longer an All-Pro caliber player, but Harris is still arguably a top-15 cornerback in the league. After playing 99% of Denver’s defensive snaps last year, Harris should easily take over in the slot for Los Angeles.

The addition of Harris puts Desmond King in an interesting situation. King earned a First-Team All-Pro selection as a defensive back in 2018. He played exceptionally well in the slot, but King saw fewer snaps on defense and more special teams snaps in 2019. It speaks volumes about Los Angeles’ talent for the Chargers to be in a situation where they have to make playing time decisions like this.

On the outside, Casey Hayward returns as Los Angeles’ top cover man. While Hayward peaked as a player in 2016 and 2017, he did experience a slight resurgence last year. Hayward is joined by Michael Davis, who started 12 games for the Chargers last season. Davis entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent from BYU in 2017, but now he’s a regular contributor for the Chargers.

Tevaughn Campbell and Brandon Facyson fill out the team’s remaining cornerback positions. If the Chargers keep five corners instead of six, Campbell is on the chopping block. He spent time on Los Angeles’ practice squad last year but never saw playing time with the 53-man roster.
