NFL Predictions 2020: Dark horse picks to win each division
By Randy Gurzi
NFC North: Chicago Bears
The Green Bay Packers retook the throne in the NFC North last season and did so in a convincing way. First-year head coach Matt LaFleur led them to a 13-3 mark as they ended up just one game shy of the Super Bowl. They weren’t the only team in the division in the playoffs though as they were joined by the Minnesota Vikings, who were 10-6 and claimed one of the two Wild Card spots.

Coming in third was the Chicago Bears at 8-8 and the Detroit Lions were the final team in the division with a record of 3-12-1. The Packers and Vikings remain the top dogs in this division and it feels like a two-team race with these clubs. As for a potential dark horse, watch out for the Bears, who made some interesting moves this offseason.
Chicago, who won the division in 2018 with a record of 12-4, bolstered an already impressive defense this year as they signed free agent edge rusher Robert Quinn. After he led the Cowboys with 11.5 sacks last season, Quinn cashed in on a five-year deal and suddenly the Bears already impressive defense now looks dominant as he joins Khalil Mack, Roquan Smith, and Eddie Jackson.
On offense, they were somewhat confusing as they overpaid for Jimmy Graham and then drafted Cole Kmet who plays the same position. However, they might have found a replacement for Mitch Trubisky as they traded for Nick Foles from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Trubisky struggled last season and has been the one thing holding this team back. As for Foles, consistency is an issue but he has a Super Bowl MVP under his belt and is a much better passer than the Bears current starter. Should he take over and reach his potential, this could be a team to watch.
