Tom Brady: 3 Revelations we hope for in 2021 documentary
1. Brady’s relationship with Belichick, Kraft
The final thing that would be very interesting to see uncovered and looked into more in the Tom Brady documentary next year is his relationship with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and New England owner Robert Kraft.
When it comes to Brady’s relationship with Kraft over the years, there have been few relationships between a player and owner quite like what we’ve seen between these two guys over the last 20 years.
Throughout the quarterback’s tenure in New England, Brady and Kraft had a good relationship both on and off the field, while the owner has consistently been willing to do whatever it takes to provide Brady and the rest of the team with the tools to succeed and continue to be one of the top teams in the league.
Most recently this offseason, Kraft said he would like nothing more than for Brady to either remain with the Patriots instead of leaving via free agency or ultimately retire as a member of New England. There is no question they both have had a solid working and personal relationship throughout the years.
Now, when it comes to Brady’s relationship with Belichick, that story is a bit different. At least according to some things we’ve heard out of Foxborough in the last few years up to Brady ultimately leaving the Patriots.
Early on in both of their careers, the relationship between the quarterback and the Patriots head coach appeared to be as strong as anyone could have imagined. While experiencing early success on the field, it’s easy to understand why the two co-existed so well.
But as both Brady and Belichick continued their careers together with New England and most notably in the past few seasons, the duo has begun to butt heads and eventually started to have somewhat of a difficult relationship, according to various reports in the last few years.
When ESPN published a book titled Belichick: The Making of the Greatest Football Coach of All Time around 2018, the book outlined that Brady felt like he was getting pushed out by Belichick and even “felt trapped” while playing for his longtime coach.
In this documentary, it would be incredibly entertaining if ESPN was able to dive into both the positive relationship between Brady and Kraft and the often times rocky relationship between the future Hall of Fame quarterback and future Hall of Fame head coach during their time with the Patriots.
