AFC West

Denver Broncos: B-

I had some thoughts about Denver’s overall look in part three of the series:

"“I could nitpick that side stripe thing that extends up onto the front of the jersey, but they give the Broncos a unique look.”"

I also said the font could use some upgrading, though, in the end, the team gets a passing grade because they don’t get too crazy with their navy/orange combo.

Los Angeles Chargers: A

I praised the Chargers’ redesign in Thursday’s piece, even though they have yet to be worn in real-time:

"“Without a doubt, the Chargers take the cake for the best new uniform. It helps that they may have the best colors out of the six teams.”"

The design, the color scheme, the numbers. They’re all top-notch. It’s quite possible that the Chargers have been the best-looking team in NFL history.

Kansas City Chiefs: B

Simple and smooth with the right balance of tradition. That’s Kansas City’s look, and it’s a fine one. My favorite aspect is the red helmet and white facemask. Aside from being the only team to regularly wear a colored helmet and white facemask, the red helmet stands out against the small amounts of white in the uniform. I’d prefer if the yellow was more visible, and there is a lack of consistency between the logo’s colors and uniforms, but those are small discrepancies.

Las Vegas Raiders: C+

Silver and black is a distinctive look, though a bit dull in my opinion. This falls under the iconic-yet-outdated category. However, there’s a reason why those Color Rush/throwbacks are a significant upgrade:

"“The silver numbers with black outlines add some much-needed flavor to the uniform. The type of fabric used for the numbers allows the silver to literally glisten. It gives the uniform an “iced-out” vibe.”"

Still, the Color Rush only saves their grade but so much.
