Detroit Lions: Jonah Jackson or Logan Stenberg, IOL

The first three picks for the Detroit Lions all seemed to be home runs with cornerback Jeff Okudah landing with them at No. 3 overall followed by running back D’Andre Swift at No. 35 and edge rusher Julian Okwara at No. 67. All three are expected to contribute immediately, and both Okudah and Swift have the look of being superstars about them.

As for their next two picks, the Lions went out and beefed up the interior of their offensive line with the selection of Ohio State’s Jonah Jackson followed by Kentucky’s Logan Stenberg. Suddenly, the Lions offensive line has a lot more options as they add these two to go along with Frank Ragnow, Taylor Decker, Joe Dahl, and Halapoulivaati Vaitai.

Jackson and Stenberg will also both have a good chance of starting for the Lions this season, as they will likely battle one another for the honor. Stenberg has more experience and played in the SEC, where he faced some elite talent. As for Jackson, he didn’t get as much time on the field, but his ceiling seems to be much higher than Stenberg’s.

Whoever it is that comes out on top, the Lions will surely look wise for landing a starting player in the middle of the draft. And in the end, they both could be long-term solutions, but right now it seems as though only one will be a star as a rookie.
