Las Vegas Raiders: Amik Robertson, CB

One of the teams that had multiple picks in the first round was the Las Vegas Raiders, who were supposed to be hosting the event in their new home. Due to the COVID-19 scare around the nation, the Raiders and the rest of the NFL had to do their draft virtually. They ended up taking Henry Ruggs III and Damon Arnette with their first two selections. Both players are great options but also came with some questions as not everyone agreed they were the best at their respective positions when selected.

Las Vegas then went with back-to-back receivers at pick 80 and 81, taking Lynn Bowden and Bryan Edwards. Each player seemed to be a great pick for where they were landed but the fact that they added so many receivers so quickly was a bit confusing.

As for their biggest possible hidden gem, that would likely be Amik Robertson, another Louisiana Tech defensive back. Robertson was taken at No. 139 overall in the fourth round which happened to be Las Vegas’ final overall selection. And he could end up proving to be their best value pick.

Robertson was passed over often in this draft due to his size. At 5-foot-8 and 187-pounds, he’s nowhere near the ideal size for a corner and some teams were surely concerned that this could be exploited at the next level. The Raiders will benefit from this as it gave them a steal this late.

The Louisiana Tech product is a fighter who has never been scared to go against the bigger receivers, and his 14-career picks show that he wins often. He’s also great at reading routes and is as physical as they come. Don’t be surprised if he becomes a household name.
