New York Giants: Darnay Holmes, CB

New York Giants general manager Dave Gettelman has been heavily criticized since taking over the role for the G-Men and it’s understandable to see why. He hasn’t made the moves conventional wisdom says he should as he took a running back at No. 2 overall in 2018 with Saquon Barkley and then grabbed Daniel Jones at No. 6 even though many had the Duke quarterback going much later.

He then tried to defend his moves saying his bagel guy approved, which was an example of him just asking people to make jokes. In addition to these moves, Gettleman was laughed at for trading away Odell Beckham, Jr. to the Cleveland Browns.

With OBJ not transforming the Browns offense, the GM is starting to look a little better. Jones’ performance and Barkley’s talent have also helped and after adding left tackle Andrew Thomas as No. 4 and safety Xavier McKinney at 36, his Giants are starting to look better.

He also found a possible starter in the middle rounds as he took UCLA cornerback Darnay Holmes at No. 110. Holmes is known for his hard work on the field and turned two picks into touchdowns for the Bruins. He hasn’t put it all together but with the right coaching, he can turn into a long-term starter — and with the DeAndre Baker saga, the Giants could use that.
