NFL Predictions 2020: One surprise rookie gem who will star for each team

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tyler Johnson, WR
The big news this offseason was the fact that there’s a new Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback for 2020. Gone is Jameis Winston, the former No. 1 overall pick in 2015, and in his place is Tom Brady — the six-time Super Bowl winner from the New England Patriots.
In addition to signing arguably the greatest quarterback of all-time, the Bucs also added tight end Rob Gronkowski, who has been Brady’s favorite target for many years. Of course, he wasn’t that for Brady in 2019 since he had retired, but seeing his friend join a new club enticed him to return to the field.
Gronk’s addition gives Brady a plethora of weapons including Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, O.J. Howard, and Cameron Brate. That doesn’t mean there’s isn’t room for more offensive firepower and Tampa Bay did find a potential late-round gem in Tyler Johnson from Minnesota.
The 6-1, 206-pound Johnson was a major weapon for the Gophers over the past two seasons, topping 1,000-yards and scoring double-digit touchdowns in each of those seasons. He won’t be able to garner a lot of targets early on due to the talent around him but his talent when it comes to catching contested passes could make him a huge weapon in the red zone.
He could end up being the third receiver in Tampa before long and should he earn Brady’s trust, he might have a strong rookie campaign.
