NFL Predictions 2020: One surprise rookie gem who will star for each team

Washington Redskins: Saahdiq Charles, OT
For more than a year, the Washington Redskins were dealing with some negative press due to a situation surrounding Trent Williams. The former Pro Bowl left tackle was frustrated with the team and their medical staff and said he lost faith in them. Williams vowed not to play for Washington again and he made good on that promise.
The Redskins then tried to trade him at the deadline in 2019 and had a buyer in the Cleveland Browns. However, they continued to ask for far too much and the deal was dead. Then, they ended up trading him to the San Francisco 49ers for a fifth-round pick this season and a third in 2021. They could have had more the year prior but played hardball and lost.
Having said that, they might have been able to recover. Not long after the trade, the Redskins took Saahdiq Charles out of LSU. Talent-wise, he’s much better than where he was taken (No. 108 overall) but has some red flags. Charles missed six games last season due to disciplinary reasons. That hurt his stock but he still proved to be a solid left tackle when he was on the field.
He won’t be the same caliber player that Williams was but for where he was drafted, this could look to be one of their better moves in this draft — at least from a value standpoint because no player will be as impactful for them as No. 2 overall pick Chase Young.
