NFL Power Rankings: Chiefs, Ravens remain hot as facilities begin to reopen
By Randy Gurzi
It feels like deja vu with the Cleveland Browns. Last season, they had made some bold moves which included adding Odell Beckham, Jr. Putting him with Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, and Jarvis Landry gave them an explosive offense and their new head coach Freddie Kitchens was just the man to get the most out of the talent.
As we all know, Kitchens struggled mightily in his rookie season and is now back to being a position coach with the New York Giants. As for the Browns, they again have a new coach in Kevin Stefanski and have once again added a lot of firepower — on both sides of the ball.
In free agency, they signed tight end Austin Hooper and safety Karl Joseph. They also tried to fix the offensive line as they signed Jack Conklin and rookie Jedrick Wills. Understanding how bad the line was last season, these moves will be the most important as they absolutely have to keep Mayfield comfortable in the pocket if they hope to have any success.
Overall, the roster is good enough to compete with anyone in the league but the Browns have always been their own biggest enemy. For that reason, we’re going to need to see them get it done on the field before truly being able to believe in them.
