NFL Power Rankings: Chiefs, Ravens remain hot as facilities begin to reopen
By Randy Gurzi
It seemed recently as though there were going to be some issues for the New Orleans Saints as Drew Brees upset many of his teammates with recent comments about the American flag and the protests going on in our nation. Brees admitted to being insensitive with his comments and it seems as though his teammates have forgiven him. That’s good because the harmony this team has on offense has a lot to do with their success.
Brees, who might not have many more years left in the league, is still able to get the job done even though it’s easy to see he’s lost some of the zip on his passes. They did a great job of protecting themselves as they landed Jameis Winston to serve as his backup. Winston might not have been the answer in Tampa Bay but he immediately becomes one of the best No. 2 quarterbacks in the game and gives them the same kind of security they had with Teddy Bridgewater the past two seasons.
They’ve also bolstered their already impressive offensive line with the addition of Cesar Ruiz in the draft. Speaking of the draft, their third-round pick was a steal as Zack Baun had no business being there that late. Those moves have kept New Orleans as one of the better teams in the NFC heading into the 2020 season.
