3. Flozell Adams, Offensive Tackle

A second-round pick out of Michigan State back in 1998, Flozell Adams came in at the end of the Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith era. Adams was expected to help those two make the most out of their final seasons in the NFL but the Cowboys never recaptured their magic from the earlier part of the 90s.

That meant for Adams, he didn’t get to block for a Hall of Famer for long before having to go through the long stretch of quarterbacks between Aikman and Tony Romo. Adams ended up blocking for Quincy Carter, Ryan Leaf, Vinny Testaverde, Drew Henson, and many other quarterbacks before finding Tony Romo.

He was integral to the early success Romo had but by the time No, 9 took over, he was nearing the end of his tenure with Dallas. His final season with them was in 2009 and he played one last season in the NFL, with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010.

In all, Adams played 12 seasons in Dallas and started all 16 games from 1999 through 2009 with the exception of 2005 when he missed 10 games with a torn ACL. Adams made five Pro Bowls and was a star for Dallas, but sadly never got the postseason glory he deserved.
