1. Logan Ryan

Much like what was touched on a few slides ago with veteran cornerback Aqib Talib, the Falcons could still be on the search for a cornerback to add to the back end of the defense in Atlanta. If that is indeed the case, the Falcons should take a long look at former Tennessee Titans cornerback Logan Ryan to add to the mix.

After creating some cap space this offseason and bringing in some young prospects into the depth chart at defensive back, that has allowed Atlanta the ability to perhaps add another piece or two during the offseason and leading up to the upcoming year.

With many big-name and talented cornerbacks still on the free-agent market, Ryan is one of the best remaining players at his position available for teams to try and sign. And adding a veteran player who is still relatively young could help the Falcons defense immediately while also helping groom and mentor the young additions the team has brought in this offseason.

There is no doubt that Ryan could boost Atlanta’s secondary this year and perhaps beyond, but the biggest question mark will be what kind of contract he is expecting in free agency.

Ryan, who finished up his seventh season in the NFL in 2019, will turn 30 years old in February and is still relatively young for a player with that much experience in the league.

Last season in Tennessee, Ryan appeared in all 16 regular-season contests for the Titans while playing in all three of Tennessee’s playoff games as well. During the regular season, the cornerback finished the year with a career-high 113 combined tackles, four forced fumbles and four interceptions.

The other attractive thing about Ryan outside of his experience as a professional is that he has played in the postseason six of his seven NFL season, two with Tennessee and four appearances with the New England Patriots earlier on in his career.

If Ryan ends up being a relatively affordable player in free agency, he would immediately help the back end of the Falcons defense in 2020 and beyond, while also providing the team with another veteran voice in the locker room.
