Las Vegas Raiders – Eric Dickerson

Drafted second overall out of SMU in 1983, Eric Dickerson was a huge star for the Los Angeles Rams. It could be argued that he remains the biggest star they ever had as he was dominant during his five-year stretch with the Rams. He started out hot as he had 1,808 yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground as a rookie. He followed that up with a great 1984 campaign, which saw him run for 2,105 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Dickerson was just the second player in NFL history to run for more than 2,000-yards in a season as he topped O.J. Simpson’s 1973 record of 2,003 yards. He also earned his second of three NFC Offensive Player of the Year awards that year.

Eventually, Dickerson was sent to the Indianapolis Colts in one of the biggest trades in league history. He was there for just nine games in 1987 but still had 1,011 yards in that time frame. Dickerson ended up crossing the 1,000-yard mark the next two seasons but then started to decline some.

In 1992, he was traded from the Colts to the Los Angeles Raiders, bringing him back to the city where he was a star. At 32-years old, Dickerson ran for 729 yards and two touchdowns. He had one last year after that with the Falcons but played in only four games.
