One NFL player you forgot played for your favorite team

Philadelphia Eagles – Mike Ditka
One possible name to mention here is Cris Carter, the Hall of Fame wide receiver who started his career with the Philadelphia Eagles. Carter showed flashes for the Eagles but was cut after just three seasons. In that time, he had 89 receptions for 1,450 yards and 19 touchdowns.
But it wasn’t his play that led to his releases. Instead, it was his off-field behavior which included alcohol and drug abuse. Carter got clean and became a great player for the Vikings. His story is so prevalent that while he’s known for his Vikings days, most remember he first failed to last in Philly due to his personal demons.
What isn’t as easy to remember is the fact that Mike Ditka was actually a tight end for the Eagles. Ditka is famous for his time with the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys where he was a player for each as well as later a coach. He won a Super Bowl as a player in Big D and later returned as an assistant head coach. He eventually returned to the Bears to be their head coach and again won a Super Bowl in 1985.
What’s easy to forget is in between his time as a Bears and Cowboys tight end was the two seasons he spent with the Eagles.
