One NFL player you forgot played for your favorite team

Chicago Bears – Doug Flutie
There was no player doubted as much as Doug Flutie back in the mid-1980s. After a great career at Boston College, Flutie entered the NFL Draft but ad just 5-foot-9 and roughly 180-pounds, there were many questions about whether or not he could play at the pro level.
Those questions led to him falling to the 11th round of the NFL Draft, where the Los Angeles Rams took him at No. 285 overall. Flutie ended up taking a different route as he played for the New Jersey Generals of the USFL in 1985. His career there ended after one season as the league folded ahead of 1986.
That offseason, the Chicago Bears made a trade for Flutie and he played four games for them with just one start. He had another start in 1987 for the Bears and while he was 2-0 in relief for Chicago, he never finished his second season with the team.
New England ended up coming along and landing Flutie who crossed the picket line during a strike to play. He continued to be a journeyman as he spent time with New England, San Diego, and Buffalo while also heading back to the CFL in the 1990 campaign.
Flutie is one of the more popular players in NFL history and he had some success with Buffalo which is where most fans remember him from. Others might remember him playing into his 40s with the Chargers or his final stint in New England in 2005 where he even had some fun in the kicking game.
What most people don’t remember is him playing for the Bears.
