20. Detroit Lions: Mark Andrews, TE (Frank Ragnow, OL)

The Lions drafted Iowa’s T.J. Hockenson with the eighth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, but the redraft doesn’t take last year’s selections into account. So, the Lions are still trying to get over Eric Ebron never delivering on his potential. Instead of praying that Levine Toilolo or Luke Willson will transform into starting-caliber players, Detroit takes Andrews at 20th overall.

Andrews became one of the biggest steals in 2018 when he fell to the third round. Baltimore scooped him up, and the Oklahoma product became a Pro Bowler in his second season with John Harbaugh’s squad. Every team passed over Andrews, but the Lions really could’ve used a player with his skillset.

At Oklahoma, Andrews played well during his first two seasons, but he became a game-changer as a junior. That year, Andrews made 62 receptions for 958 yards and eight touchdowns. He earned a Consensus All-American selection and won the John Mackey Award, which goes to the nation’s most outstanding tight end.

Last season, Andrews finished fifth among tight ends with 852 receiving yards and led the position with ten touchdowns. He also became Baltimore’s most reliable receiving threat and flashed vertical playmaking. According to Pro Football Focus, Andrews and Travis Kelce found themselves in a class all alone.

Toilolo finished fifth on the Lions in receiving yards in 2018, but he was the team’s leading tight end. In the redraft, Detroit gladly forgoes selecting Frank Ragnow at 20th overall in favor of a top-five tight end.
