One of the most underrated players on the elite Chicago Bears defense is Eddie Goldman. He is a plug in the middle that allows the players around him to do their jobs. It is important, then, to keep him healthy so he can continue to help the defense.

The problem is that there isn’t much behind Goldman who could spell him enough for him to be effective throughout the season. They currently have John Jenkins back up Goldman. Jenkins has spent some time with the Bears. He’s been signed and waived a couple of times. He did play eight games for Chicago in 2017. He played for two different teams in the past two seasons (New York Giants and Miami Dolphins).

Mike Daniels is 31 years old and has dealt with injuries, but he could play well with limited snaps. He could come in and help give Goldman some rest so he could stay healthy as much as possible. Additionally, he has playoff experience. He has 10 playoff games under his belt, having played all of them when he was with the Green Bay Packers.

Daniels is at the end of his career and I’m sure he’d love to play for an elite defense. He can contribute and use his experience to help the Bears make a playoff run.
