1. Falcons will end playoff drought in 2020

The biggest prediction that will take place by the end of the regular season for Atlanta is that its play won’t be done at the end of that 16-game schedule like it has been the last two seasons.

Leading into the new year, this objective will be the most important one for the Falcons to be able to accomplish, although they will have the task of squaring up against a tough NFC South division alongside the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers.

In each of the last two seasons, Atlanta finished the regular season with records of 7-9 overall, failing to reach the postseason in both of those campaigns. There are a number of things and questions that the Falcons will have to do and address on both sides of the ball to be able to end that streak in 2020.

Given the fact that the NFC South division will be one of the toughest around the NFL this season, it’s not likely that we see Atlanta claiming the division crown this year, especially with the Saints and Buccaneers positioned to fight for that top spot. But the Falcons could very well find themselves in the running for one of the two Wild Card spots this year to try and end the playoff drought in 2020.

By the end of the year, we could see Atlanta making its return to the postseason for the first time in a few seasons and we could even see a total of three NFC South teams taking part in the NFC playoffs at the conclusion of the regular season.
