Carolina Panthers: Defensive Line

In 2019, the Carolina Panthers had two huge names on their defensive line with Gerald McCoy and Dontari Poe. Even with them, the team struggled on the line of scrimmage, especially when it came to run defense.

Ironically enough, both left in free agency and joined the Dallas Cowboys and are expected to shore things up for them. It’s easy to say the Panthers will be better off considering their issues last season but not all was on the players themselves. There was a coaching staff change and the offense was without Cam Newton, meaning the defense was on the field a lot more than they should have been.

Now in 2020, they’re going to have to try and get better with less veteran talent. It’s not impossible but it’s also easier said than done. They do have their top pick in Derrick Brown, who looks to be a stud, but they are going to need a lot from him from the start.

Chicago Bears: Quarterback

Mitchell Trubisky has been up and down so far in his career and the Chicago Bears put him on notice this season as they made a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars for Nick Foles. The former Super Bowl-winning quarterback has had his share of struggles in the regular season but he has proven he can turn it on in the playoffs.

For the Bears, he could be the perfect quarterback since they can lean heavily on their defense during the regular season. The question is, can he unseat Trubisky?

Either way, Chicago has two options under center entering the NFL 2020 season and as the old saying goes — “when you have two quarterbacks, you might actually have no quarterback”.
