Jacksonville Jaguars: Quarterback

There’s a strong belief that the Jacksonville Jaguars are tanking this season as they hope to land Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The Jags have moved on from some of their key defenders including Calais Campbell and A.J. Bouye, but the real reason for this belief is under center.

After trading away Nick Foles, Jacksonville is handing the keys to Gardner Minshew. As a rookie in 2019, Minshew was a pleasant surprise and outplayed his late-round draft status. Still, he has a long way to go before anyone shows belief in him as a franchise player.

Kansas City Chiefs: Linebacker

Owners of one of the better rosters in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs are stacked top to bottom. They’re the defending NFL Champions and all of their key contributors from their title run last season are returning. On offense, they’re led by Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill and now add Clyde Edwards-Helaire to the group. There is literally no weak spot on the offense unless you want to pick at the guard position a little.

As for defense, there is a weakness — linebacker. The Chiefs signed Anthony Hitchens and Damien Wilson from the Cowboys in recent seasons but they haven’t ranked high at all according to Pro Football Focus (subscription required) with Wilson ranked as the 70th best of 89 ranked linebackers and Wilson coming in at No. 81.

It wasn’t enough to stop them from winning it all in 2019, but it is the one position where the Chiefs can’t feel completely confident.
