47. Scouting Report. New England Patriots. Cam Newton. 12. player. Pick Analysis. QB

It was starting to look as if Cam Newton was going to have to take a backup job or wait for an injury for him to have a shot at starting for a team in 2020. Then when we were all resigned to that idea, the announcement was made that he signed with the New England Patriots. This also put to bed the idea that Jarrett Stidham was the heir to Tom Brady, and it suddenly made the Patriots the sure-fire favorites once again in the AFC East.

Newton is a stark contrast from Brady who was cold and calculated and killed teams with the short pass. Brady was also a statue in the pocket that didn’t threaten with his legs. Newton, on the other hand, will dominate as a runner and has one of the stronger arms in the game.

The question will come down to health. The 2015 NFL MVP has had two seasons in a row where he struggled to stay on the field. If he can shake that, the Patriots could be downright scary. Again.

player. 50. Pick Analysis. QB. 11. Scouting Report. Detroit Lions. Matt Stafford

On pure arm talent, Matt Stafford is one of the best in the game. The Detroit Lions first pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, Stafford has started 149 games for the Lions and has 41,025 yards and 256 touchdown passes. The problem for him has been that he plays on a struggling franchise that has just 69 wins with 79 losses and a tie with him starting.

Stafford could be one of those players who never makes any noise in the postseason when his career is all said and done, which is unfortunate.
