2020 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings: Cam Newton signing shakes things up
By Randy Gurzi
Kirk Cousins is coming off his most efficient season as an NFL quarterback after completing 69.1 percent of his passes while boasting a 26-to-6- touchdown-to-interception ratio. It was the first time since 2015 that he didn’t cross the 4,000-yard mark but it was also his first double-digit winning season.
Cousins deferred to the running game but was deadly with the play-action pass. This season will be interesting as he’s going to be without Stefon Diggs who was traded to Buffalo and without Kevin Stefanski, who was the play-caller in 2019.
Should he continue to excel with those changes, it might be time for Cousins to finally get the respect he deserves.
There’s a school of thought that Carson Wentz leading the Philadelphia Eagles to the NFC East title last season with a questionable receiving corps was nothing short of miraculous. While it was impressive, the team was just 9-7 and barely beat out the Dallas Cowboys who were in a free-fall as the team checked out on head coach Jason Garrett.
It was also only the second time in his career that Wentz finished with a record over .500 as a starter. The tools are there to be successful but he has to put it all together to get mentioned in the top-5 in the game.
